Our beloved Beech Mountain Bliss is for Sale!

Our beloved Beech Mountain Bliss is for Sale!  After so many years of enjoying our mountain retreat, and opening it up to others as a vacation rental, we took the opportunity to make it our full-time home. Now family obligations have called us elsewhere. So Beech Mountain Bliss (with its fantastic mountain view and the many improvements we've made to the condo) is now for sale. Considering our many renovations and the better quality appliances and furnishings that we have there, the folks who next fall in love with Beech Mountain Bliss will be getting a great deal.

To those of you who have contacted me to book the condo, even after we stopped using Beech Mountain Bliss as a vacation rental, thank you so much for the compliment of remembering us.  I agree, Beech Mountain Bliss is a special place and a fantastic location for enjoying time-off in a Winter wonderland - AND for escaping from the heat and humidity of our Southern Summers.

Bliss Is Ours . . . Full-Time!

So, our family is in the midst of making a momentous change to our day-to-day existence:  We have sold the house in Holly Springs, NC; and we are now full-time mountain dwellers, living at Beech Mountain Bliss.  For those of our friends and loved ones who weren't already aware of it, Beech Mountain Bliss is was our Vacation Rental condo, located in a small Ski Town called Beech Mountain . . . just a short (well, relatively short by mountain standards, that is) drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway and places like Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Tweetsie Railroad, and Linville Caverns.

Snowman Building Contest on Beech Mountain

Bring your expertise in making snowmen to the Sledding Hill by the Beech Mountain Town Hall, and you may just win a prize!  The Beech Mountain Recreation Department is holding a Snowman Building Contest on Saturday afternoon, February 18th, between 1 and 2 p.m.  Contest participants 12 and under may compete for small prizes ($5 fee per entry).

Contest will be held on February 18th, weather permitting, of course.  But keep in mind that there is a snow blower at this location, and temperatures have been sufficiently cold enough for snow so far . . . so conditions look promising.

Call the Buckeye Recreation Center at Beech Mountain for more details:  828 387-3003 - And find this and other events on their online Calendar!

Beech Mountain Has Snow Already!

Snow!  Of course, Mother Nature has already favored the Mountain with several coats of that magical white stuff already.  But now, in anticipation of a December 3rd opening date, the folks up at Beech Mountain Resort (formerly known as Ski Beech) are cranking up their snow machines today.

You can check out their progress with the Live Web Cams online.  The extra snow guns added to their arsenal last year should allow for even more ski time and terrain this winter season.
